Richard Smeed
Richard was a junior island footballer, under 18 CI badminton champion and well known for playing and coaching tennis. He has represented Guernsey and CI at County level and won 2 island singles and a record 10 Island doubles championships with partner Ian Robinson, making them the most successful team in Guernsey tennis history. He has won 3 CI doubles titles and represented Guernsey at 5 Island Games, winning 2 bronze medals at the 1991 Aland games. Richard is a CCA Qualified LTA coach, attained at Loughborough University and Bisham Abbey. Richard is married to Jo and has 2 children. Gareth Coombes was one of our top island juniors and is now making his mark in our senior ranks. Gareth is now a UKCC2 qualified LTA coach. His enthusiasm for the game and his authoritative aura around the younger players makes him very well suited to a career as a tennis coach with Skill Set. Gareth is looking to diversify his qualifications and has already achieved Level 1 football coaching and seeks to obtain a Level 2 Children's health and fitness qualification in 2011.
Michael Trotter
A young and enthusiastic tennis coach with lots of ideas. Michael is a Level 2 tennis coach having worked hard to achieve his level 2 UKCC2 qualification. Michael has become an important part of SkillSet and has developed into an all rounder within the team, he is equally at home teaching pre-school sports, tennis or leading childrens birthday parties.
Lynette Le Cocq
Lynette is the Afterschool Manager and holds a Level 2 childcare qualification and is to study for her level 3 shortly. Lynette also assists with office administration and puts her creative talents to excellent use during our holiday activity clubs.
